![]() The power of imagination is what sets humans apart from other animals. Let us try to understand this concept a little better, shall we? I really feel like I am onto something here. But stay with me? A little longer on the journey. If the Physics of these talks are not making sense, I get it. It just keeps decaying into nothingness never really touching the nothingness. However, it never really runs out of mass. Of how a radioactive material keeps decaying consistently converting mass into energy. Unstoppable, fuelled by its own fire, going on and on into oblivion, but never really extinguishing completely. I felt that this virality of an idea is much like PMM. I closely related to the viral nature of an idea, how it spreads beyond control in an exponential fashion with a seemingly unlimited reach, to a PMM. I instantly went back to my mind’s library and picked up the book on PMM. The mechanical engineer in me however understood the idea in a more physical realm. The idea of an idea being a parasite stuck with me. Like ‘Woah! Let me hear that again.’ And that idea stuck with me. When Leo said this line, I did a double-take. ‘The most resilient parasite is an idea planted in the subconscious mind.’ It may also not resonate with you as much as it does with me, but if you are reading on, I hope it does.Įver since I saw the movie Inception (by Christopher Nolan), I have clung to the idea of ideas. Let me disarm you by saying that the following may sound gibberish (and it most likely is). Well, if you must know, if you are interested, if you really want to cling on to the imaginary hope, here is an idea. Isn’t that beautiful? Beauty in end I suppose.īut what if I tell you there is something that does resemble a little bit of PMM in all of us? What if I tell you that one part of you can actually resonate with the concept of a PMM in reality? What if I can tell you a beautiful lie, impractical, yet extremely heart-warming? Would you embrace it? Or would you shun the idea in the wake of pragmatism and let it never take its full form? ![]() ![]() The object with a seemingly infinite amount of energy (like our sun) will also die one day. Therefore, eventually, each motion comes to a halt. Ever small motion consumes a small amount of energy. The laws of physics won’t allow such a machine to ever form. Therefore, the ‘theoretical’ part comes into the picture. Physicists across the globe have tried creating such machines for several decades now, without any success. Theoretically, such machines could work in perfectly isolated systems without losing energy. A PMM is a device that works perpetually i.e., without an end. The Perpetual Motion Machine, aka, PMM is a theoretical concept. ![]()
